IRCC news in April 2022:EE draws resume and more

As announced by the Honorable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship today that Express Entry draws will soon resume and that invitations to apply will begin in early July. Most of the applications will be processed within the 6-month service standard.

Starting in summer 2022, Post-graduation work permit (PGWP) holders whose work permit is expiring between January and December 2022 may apply to extend their PGWP for up to 18 months.

Visitors who are currently in Canada may still apply for an employer-specific work permit without having to leave Canada until February 28,2023.

Beginning in this summer, TR2PR applicants are no longer required to remain in Canada while their PR application is in process; they may apply for an open work permit with the validity until the end of 2024. Their oversea family members can also apply for their own open work permit.
